I don’t know about you but for some reason – I get excited about this year. There is something about this year that I never felt last year or the last few years. I can’t explain it myself but I just know that this year is so exciting, filled with happiness and laughter – time to really get moving and having a change – in a positive way, ofcourse.

I suddenly had to urge to say – why not be adventurous? Get out of your comfort zone and do something you have never done before. Like – suddenly do some rock climbing, greet a total stranger or START BLOGGING! I’ve been blogging since I was 13 years old and I’ve been passionate just to share whatever comes to mind. I am aware that most people are not really open to the idea about blogging – but why not? It’s fun and you get to learn a lot of things – you get to widen your network all at the same time, too!

Now, I get a lot of emails recently of some people asking me how to get started with blogging, there are so many ways and so many details but to break it down and go straight to the point – here are some of the very basic things you need to get started:

1. Know what to blog about – It’s really important you have the idea on what to blog about. Is it gonna be a personal journal where in you post everything about you and happenings in your life or will you have a niche? Will you be a beauty blogger? Food Blogger? Travel or Technology blogger? You have to know your own passion that you can use and focus on for a long time.

2. Find a Blog Platform – You can go to Tumblr, WordPress, Blogspot or choose to buy your own domain to start but if you are just new into blogging, I suggest you go for Tumblr and Blogspot first to get the hang of it. You may also check out for templates that may interest you – a good website template always gets the attention of the readers but a good and consistent content is a must, too!

3. Share your Content – Make use of social media to share your content! It helps with the traffic of your website and you can get people to read and make comments on your website, too. Who knows, they may become your avid readers and followers on your blog all at the same time. If your content is worth the read, they may re-share it and will cause a lot of viral traffic that will benefit your website!

4. Find Bloggers! – It’s also a good idea to find bloggers whether bloggers of the same niche as you are or not – these are a form of networking and you get to learn from them, too. You can be friends with them or have collaborations and sharing of information that relates to blogging and you both will definitely benefit from the idea overall.

These are just some ideas you might give a try. This year – why not start blogging? It’s fun – really! It’s a nice way to make a change in your life if you are not into blogging yet, don’t you think so?
