Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata

Moonlight-Sonata

Who doesn’t know about Beethoven’s Piano Piece – Moonlight Sonata. I’m sure everyone has either heard about it knew about it as part of history’s past. As for me, this song has always been one of my favorites. I think, the first time I heard it was when I was watching The Ring 0, at that time.. Sadako was playing a piano piece on Moonlight Sonata.

The moment I listened to its tunes.. I was awed. I knew instantly that the song was special – I knew it was such a masterpiece. The song was literally..alive.

If you haven’t heard of this piano piece at all, allow me to do the honor for you to hear it… played by Tiffany Poon.

Some people say that this piano piece is just an abstract work of art by Beethoven but most books have mentioned that it was due to the fact that Beethoven fell in love with his 17 year old student, Countess Giulietta Guiccardi. They have 14 years age gap but despite that.. he still proposed to her. Some of these books have mentioned she only admired her as a teacher, some have mentioned that her father opposed the engagement because Beethoven’s did not rank high enough on the social ladder. Moonlight Sonata was said was a love letter to Countess Guilietta Guiccardi.

I actually tried again and again to study this piano piece. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really gifted as I had a hard time just reading the piece – I like listening to it though, lol. Sigh.. I bet the Exciting Casio Privia Px130 88-Key Digital Keyboard at Guitar Center would have been a good starting point for me to work on the piano piece. Up until now, I can still remember how I’ve bugged my mom time and time again to buy me one. She did, lol. I just wasn’t able to use it as much as I wasn’t good at playing it, lol.
