5 Easy Steps to Do the No Makeup Look

How-to-create-the-No-Makeup-look

Emma Stone, Jessica Biel, Blake Lively – we’ve seen the stars wear their “no makeup” makeup look and they look astonishing in them. We wonder if they’re just born with superior genes but we’re sure they did their makeup right. The “no makeup” makeup look relies on the right products such as Dermablend setting powder, L’Oreal concealer and more. This type of look focuses more on picking natural shades of your skin and lips, instead of putting on a vibrant color.

How do you do it? Here are 5 easy steps.

5-Steps-No-Makeup-Look

STEP 1

Prep your skin by cleansing and exfoliating. This goes to any type of makeup, not just the “no makeup” look. Start with a clean face so that impurities will be lifted before you apply any makeup base. After washing and prepping your face, apply moisturizer. A tinted moisturizer that’s close to your skin tone is much better so you can skip on heavy foundation. Such moisturizer works as a power duo that combines skincare and makeup to even out your skin (Christian Dior Capture Totale Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in 1 Natural Radiance).

STEP 2

Next, cover up blemishes and other skin imperfections using a concealer. Focus on covering up dark under eye circles as well as redness caused by acne. For easy application, choose a concealer that includes an applicator or a wand (L’Oreal Feel Naturale Concealer Correcteur in Light Clair). After blending the concealer, apply a loose setting powder (Dermablend Loose Setting Powder in Cool Beige). Moisturizers and concealers can become too shiny on your face so you need to absorb that extra oil and shine. This also helps prolong your makeup base.

STEP 3

Third step is to focus on your eyes. The key to a vibrant “no makeup look” is to let your eyes stand out without having to apply too much makeup. First, choose an eye shadow with a shade slightly darker than your skin tone (Prestige Eye Shadow Quads in EK-01 Naked). A naked-colored palette is favorable so you’ll have more options, especially when you’re still finding out which shade works for you. Next, line your upper and lower lash lines with brown eyeliner pencil (Prestige Professional Eyeliner in XNE-04 Brown). However instead of making the line obvious, smudge it a bit for a more natural effect. Finally, add a touch of elegance to your lashes with a clear mascara (Longcils Boncza Longcilextender White/Clear).

STEP 4

Give a slight color to your cheeks with a cream blush and choose shades such as peach and light pink (Prescriptives MyStick Swivel CheekColor in 08 Spin). Cream blush is easy to apply and blends in easily with your skin for a more natural or “flushed” look. Blend only at the apples of your cheeks.

STEP 5

Finally, give your lips the color it needs with a tinted balm. Wearing a lipstick will look like you’re actually wearing makeup. The same goes with a shiny gloss. Tinted balms are better because they blend in with your lips easily and these give you just the right amount of color. For your shade, you may choose a nude one that’s close to the color of your lips. For a slight hue, pick peaches or bare pinks (Clarins Color Quench Favorites – 3 Piece Tinted Lip Balm Set).
